That's why in early 2016 The Associated Press and RYOT partnered with Spherica to produce a VR documentary “The Second Line": the story of a parade against the relentless violence plaguing New Orleans. In the words of AP: “The Second LIne” became the first virtual reality story in the industry to incorporate 360-degree video cameras that move on their own, producing better, more natural experience for viewers.” All the moving shots were filmed with the first generation of Spherica’s hardware-stabilized camera rigs on a proprietary rover, becoming the first immersive VR story to introduce a new filming format into 360VR.
