“Cool” from West Side Story

Date: September 2017
Client: Carnegie Hall, Google Arts & Culture
Thanks to VR, culture can not only be made immersive but available to everyone and in a unique way. Spherica teamed up with RYOT to produce a special 360 experience of one of the world's most iconic musicals "West Side Story," in partnership with Carnegie Hall and Google Arts & Culture. During one of the three performances presented as part of Carnegie Hall's "Somewhere Project," the lines were blurred between students and professionals by director Amanda Dehnert in the Knockdown Center in Queens. Using Spherica's rover with hardware camera stabilization, viewers can feel like background dancers for the 360 version of one of the musical's signature songs "Cool".
